Teaching Philosophy
Over the course as an English Professor, I have found that teaching English demands supportive instruction, making it necessary to provide scaffolding methods and daily interaction exercises that facilitate understanding. Like Erika Lindenmann states, “we want to look at some ways of teaching styles, of encouraging students to become sensitive to the varieties of language that give writing power, clarity, and when appropriate, a sense of playfulness” (177). That said, I define my teaching philosophy as being committed not only to building confidence in my students’ reading and writing skills but also to creating a comfortable environment where communication is constant, facilitating learning, and providing fun and challenging teaching that create life-long learners.
